After 3 years in Scotland, and now having covered much of the country’s mainland in our travels, we decided it was time that we explored some of the country’s many “wee isles”. Arran was an obvious choice for our first Isle- it is small, relatively easy to access and often described as ‘Scotland in Miniature’. We only had a few days to explore, and we did not attempt to hike up the famous Goatfell mountain. However, we did drive around the entire coast of the island and did some amazing short walks and found that for a relatively short hike were transported to some truly epic scenery that anyplace else would have required a long hike into some very remote places. We also got lucky with some beautiful light and stunning sunsets as you will see in my pictures.
